On Sunday, December 14, 2025, the West Winds Master Homeowners’ Association, Inc. held a Special Meeting of the Members to share the certified results of a community-wide vote regarding the possible removal or retention of current Board Directors.
Thank you to everyone who took the time to vote or attend. Community participation matters, and your engagement helps ensure that West Winds continues to be governed thoughtfully, transparently, and in accordance with our shared rules.
The meeting was conducted online via Zoom and was informational only, as required by the Association’s Bylaws and Montana law. Its sole purpose was to report the election results and outline next steps, if any were required.
VOTING RESULTS: All Current HOA Directors Retained

Why the Special Meeting Was Held
Earlier this fall, the Association received a valid member petition requesting a vote on whether to remove one or more current Directors. In response, the Board followed the process outlined in the Association’s governing documents and Montana law, including:
Providing formal notice to all members
Conducting a written electronic ballot election
Engaging an independent election inspector to oversee and certify the process
These steps are designed to ensure fairness, accuracy, and confidence in the outcome—regardless of differing viewpoints.
How the Vote Was Conducted
Voting was conducted via ElectionBuddy, a secure, auditable voting platform widely used by homeowners’ associations, nonprofits, and public organizations. Members received unique ballot links by email, and paper ballots were mailed to members without an email address on file.
The entire election process—including ballot delivery, voter eligibility, audit logs, and vote tabulation—was independently reviewed by an election inspector from Brown, Kaleczyc, Berry & Hoven, P.C. (BKBH).
Participation & Quorum
168 ballots were received
This represented 40.78% of all lots in the community
The required quorum was met
No ballots were excluded for lack of good standing
Election Results
Under the Association’s Bylaws, removing a Director requires meeting a specific voting threshold tied to that Director’s original election results—not a simple majority.
After certification by the independent election inspector:
No Director met the required threshold for removal
All current Directors were retained
No additional elections are required
The election has now been formally closed.
What Happens Next
The certified election results and official meeting minutes have been finalized and retained as part of the Association’s permanent records.
With the election now concluded and results certified, the Board will continue its regular work on behalf of the community. No additional elections or follow-up actions are required as a result of this vote.
The Board appreciates the time and participation of all members who voted and attended the Special Meeting. While neighbors may not always agree on every issue, West Winds is strongest when we engage respectfully and work together toward the long-term health of the community.
The Association remains committed to:
Transparency
Following the governing documents
Truthful and accurate information
Fair, lawful, and respectful community governance
Thank you for being part of West Winds. We look forward to the year ahead.
